Call for evidence on Better Reporting launched
The Implementation Taskforce on social impact investing has opened a call for evidence to gather the latest insights and perspectives on approaches to social and environmental impact reporting.
Better reporting of non-financial outcomes is one of five key areas that the Implementation Taskforce is focusing on in carrying forward the recommendations from 'Growing a Culture of Social Impact Investing in the UK' published in November 2017.
In order to understand the current landscape, the Taskforce has launched a call for evidence across the investor, investee and wider stakeholder communities, to gather the latest insights and perspectives on approaches to social and environmental impact reporting.
The ambition is to develop clear options for organisations to coalesce towards a harmonised approach for reporting their impact on people (social impact) and planet (environmental impact).
It is imperative for these options to acknowledge and draw on the extensive work done in this area already, and this work should not be seen as an exercise to create a new framework.
The call for evidence is now live and will close on 30th June. Responses will provide input towards an interim report to Government in the Summer and directly inform the next phase of work.
